Canada Day - Office Closing
Municipal Officers will be closed Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 in celebration of the Canada Day holiday. Urgent matters can still be reported to the Municipality through the regular telephone number, 519-631-4860 which is answered every day, 24 hours a day.
Waste Collection - Week of Canada Day
There will be no garbage and blue box collection on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009. If your garabage is normally collected Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, it will be collected one day later than normal this week.
American Wind Symphony Orchestra Visits Port Stanley Harbour
Pull up your lawn chair on Port Stanley's harbourfront "berm" at the foot of Main Street and be lulled by the sweet sounds of the American Wind Symphony's 40 piece orchestra onboard barge Point Counterpoint II's floating stage. The Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 7:30 pm open air, waterfront concert is presented by the Municipality of Central Elgin and the County of Elgin. Results - Port Stanley Harbour Community Workshop
The Port Stanley Port Facility Feasibility Study and Business Plan Community Workshop held on June 17, 2009 generated valuable ideas and input on possible future uses for Port Stanley Harbour lands. The recommended options will help form the basis of a recommended development option to be presented at an open community meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2009 (location and time to be determined). Council Adopts 2009 Budget; Tax Rate Decreases 1.01%
Council has approved the 2009 Budget for the Municipality of Central Elgin. The budget includes significant infrastructure projects including reconstructing streets, rehabilitating bridges, paving an arena parking lot and installing a new sidewalk. Click here to learn more.
