Why Licence Your Dog

  • If your dog goes missing, having him/her licensed drastically improves your chances of getting him/her back safely.
  • A licence is immediately visible to anyone who finds your pet and shows that your pet belongs to someone
  • Your dog is returned to its home faster and spends less time in the shelter.
  • If your dog is lost or involved in an emergency situation, the licence provides information needed to contact you.

How To Licence Your Dog

Now that you know the reasons why getting a licence is so important, how and where do you go to get one? Licences may be purchased by completing our online form. Once the form has been completed, dog tags will be mailed to your address.

You may also purchase a licence from our office located at 450 Sunset Drive, St. Thomas.

The dog tag you receive in 2021 will be a lifetime tag, this means that tags will not have to be replaced every year! One dog tag will be permanently assigned to your pet. The licencing fee for the dog tag will need to be renewed annually. Going forward, you will receive a yearly email reminding you of the dog tag licence renewal.

Dog Licence Fees:

New tags: $30 per dog ($40 after March 31, 2021)

Replacement tags: $5
