Fire Ban in Effect

UPDATE: FIRE BAN LIFTED – Effective July 20, 2026

The Municipality of Central Elgin’s fire ban has been lifted.

Residents may now resume open-air and recreational burning in accordance with the Municipality’s Open-Air Burning By-law.

Effective immediately, a fire ban is in effect in Central Elgin.

This fire ban is being implemented due to ongoing poor air quality conditions resulting from wildlife smoke.

Smoke from outdoor fires can worsen air quality and pose serious health risks, especially for children, older adults and people with respiratory or heart conditions.
