Andrew Lawton, Member of Parliament for Elgin—St. Thomas—London South has launched a local Cellular Connectivity Project to identify mobile dead zones and areas with persistently poor cellular coverage across Elgin, St. Thomas, and south London.

The Draft CSMP is now available for public review and we are inviting residents to take part in a second round of public feedback.

This is an opportunity to review the draft plan and tell us what you like most, and what you would like to see added or changed.

The Municipality of Central Elgin is continuing investment in critical stormwater infrastructure improvements with the next phase of the Port Stanley Storm Sewer Upsizing Project, designed to reduce flooding risks, improve stormwater management and enhance the reliability of municipal infrastructure.

The Port Stanley Lift Bridge is scheduled to close to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 p.m. to allow for repairs to the bridge’s locking pin motor system.

The bridge is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.

TAKE NOTICE that on August 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., pursuant to By-law No. 2690 the Sale
& Disposition of Land Policy, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central
Elgin will consider a proposal to declare the following lands surplus to the needs of the
Municipality:

• Unopened portion of Vimy Ridge Street, legally described as Vimy Ridge St PL 221 Port Stanley, Central Elgin, PIN 35254 0198
