The Municipality of Central Elgin is proud to announce that Port Stanley’s Main Beach has once again earned the prestigious Blue Flag designation for 2025, marking the 15^th consecutive year of recognition for meeting the highest international standards in water quality, environmental management, safety, and services.

The Blue Flag is a globally recognized eco-certification awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education and administered in Canada by Swim Drink Fish.

Why It Matters

Blowing grass clippings onto the road might seem harmless, but it can lead to several issues:

1. Pothole Formation: Damp grass clippings on gravel roads can clump together and, when graded into the gravel, contribute to pothole formation.
2. Poor Drainage: Organic debris from vegetation on the road can slow down drainage by getting into the gravel.
