NOTICE OF EXEMPTION
REGULATION 555/06 of the HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ACT

This notice is issued pursuant to section 3(1)(4) of the Ontario Regulations 555/06 to the Highway Traffic Act which allows for the following exemptions:

Regulation 555/06 Paragraph 4 of subsection 3(1)
4. A vehicle engaged in providing relief in an emergency, being a situation or impending situation that constitutes a danger of major proportions to life, property, or the environment, whether caused by forces of nature, an accident, an international act or otherwise.

4.1 A vehicle operated by or on behalf of a municipality, road authority or public utility while responding to a situation or impending situation that constitutes an imminent danger, though not one of major proportions, to life, property or the environment, whether caused by forces of nature, an accident, an intentional act or otherwise.

SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT DECLARATION
(Pursuant to s.16.9 of O.reg. 239/02 amended)

THE MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL ELGIN IS DECLARING A SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT IN RESPECT TO HEAVY SNOWFALL AMOUNTS, BLOWING SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITY STARTING AT 8:30 A.M. AND CONTINUING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

USERS OF THE ROADS AND SIDEWALKS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL ELGIN ARE ADVISED TO AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL AND TO USE CAUTION IF DOING SO.

THE PUBLIC IS ASKED NOT TO PARK ON MUNICIPAL STREETS DURING PLOWING ACTIVITIES AND REFRAIN FROM DEPOSITING SNOW ON MUNICIPAL ROADWAYS OR SIDEWALKS.
