    What is a CIP:

    A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is an economic development tool used by municipalities
    in Ontario to guide strategic investment, development, and revitalization initiatives that support the physical improvement of a municipality or areas within a municipality. The Elgincentives CIP was adopted in 2015, and after more than a decade of supporting community improvement across Elgin County, the County has undertaken a review.

    Central Elgin receives provincial funding to support flood mitigation efforts in Port Stanley
    Great news for Central Elgin!
    The Municipality of Central Elgin will receive $9,307,500 in provincial funding to support flood mitigation efforts in Port Stanley.
    This funding comes from the Province of Ontario's Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program’s Health and Safety Water Stream.

    A deceased goose recently found in the Port Stanley area has tested positive for avian influenza (also known as bird flu). Testing was conducted by the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative (CWHC).
