    Short-Term Rental Accommodations - Have Your Say!

    The Municipality of Central Elgin is developing a new licensing program to address short-term rental accommodations in Central Elgin. This includes rentals that are often listed on online platforms such as Airbnb, and Vacation Rentals by Owner (VRBO) for 28 days or less, as well as bed-and-breakfast type accommodations.

    Cold Weather

    Each winter, Central Elgin experiences periods of extreme cold. The Southwestern Public Health Unit issues Cold Alerts when :

    • Temperatures drop to -15°C without wind chill, or

    • Temperatures drop to -20°C with wind chill

    Please be advised that, effective immediately, the Pleasant Valley Road Bridge has been closed due to structural concerns identified during a recent inspection. The bridge is expected to remain closed for a least a few months.
