• Never feed or leave food out for wild animals. While it may seem harmless, feeding wildlife can lead to dependence on human food, attract pests, spread disease, increase conflicts, and cause illness due to poor nutrition.
  • Close off any gaps around or under decks, sheds, or porches to prevent animals from denning or hiding there.
  • Always store garbage in secure containers and keep carts in an enclosed area when possible. Place garbage carts and recycling bins at the curb only on the day of collection.
  • Keep your property free of junk, debris, and waste that could attract animals seeking food or shelter.
  • Pick up after your pet. Pet waste can spread disease and attract wildlife, posing health risks for both pets and wild animals.
  • If using a bird feeder, regularly clean up fallen seed underneath to avoid attracting unwanted wildlife.
  • Keep your barbecue clean and free of grease.
