Central Elgin Fire and Emergency Services works with Medavie EMS Elgin Ontario and Ontario Provincial Police to protect the community. The fire department has over 100 volunteer firefighters, 25 lifeguards, supported by a full-time Fire Chief, and Fire Services Coordinator.

Services include:

Fire Halls

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Smoke detectors are a must in all homes, and carbon monoxide detectors are needed for any home with fuel-burning appliances, such as a furnace, water heater, range, cooktop, or grill. Even those living in all-electric homes should install carbon monoxide detectors because CO can seep into the house from an attached garage or if a backup generator is used too close to your living quarters during a power outage.

Central Elgin releases quarterly updates that provide an overview of emergency response activity across the Municipality. These updates outline the number of calls responded to by each station and track monthly totals year over year.
