The Municipality has retained Duncor Enterprises for the completion of our annual surface treatment program.
This will include the following work to be completed over the next few days with completion estimated by early next week.
  • Southdale Line from Centennial Ave to Yarmouth Centre Road
  • John Street (Orwell) from Springwater Road to Prior Street
  • Prior Street (Orwell) from Talbot Line to Dead End
  • Thomson Line from Highbury Ave to Carr Road
  • Brouwers Line from Hobson Road to Springwater Road
The following roads will be scheduled later in the year:
  • Truman Line from Highbury Avenue to Yarmouth Centre Road
  • Fruit Ridge Line from Fairview Road to Centennial Road
We ask all residents to exercise caution when travelling through these areas while the construction work is occurring, or to avoid the area all together if possible. There will be loose stone on the surface for a period of time as the aggregate material settles into the road surface. Full compaction takes time depending on the temperature and amount of traffic. Most of Central Elgin’s rural roads are treated this way, and the end result on these surface treated roads will be similar to an asphalt road, but at a fraction of the cost.
