The Municipality of Central Elgin announces the departure of its Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Carey Herd, who has accepted the role of Chief Administrative Officer with the City of Vernon, British Columbia.
“While Carey’s departure is disappointing, we benefitted enormously from the innovative and authentic leadership she brought to the Municipality,” said Mayor Andrew Sloan. “Her dedication and hard work resulted in significant progress on strategic priorities and major community initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on how we serve our residents.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served this incredible community,” said Carey Herd. “Central Elgin has made real strides, advancing long-term plans and delivering on issues that matter most to residents.”
“Carey remains fully involved to complete the 2026 budget process and provide guidance on select files into the new year,” continued Mayor Sloan. “The Senior Leadership Team is working closely with Carey to ensure a seamless handover through the end of November, protecting momentum and maintaining continuity in leadership and operations.”
