NOTICE OF NOMINATION FOR MUNICIPAL OFFICE – FORM B01
Municipality of Central Elgin
• The MAYOR shall be elected by general vote of the residents of the Municipality
• The DEPUTY MAYOR shall be elected by general vote of the residents of the Municipality
• One COUNCILLOR WARD 1 shall be elected by the residents of said ward
• One COUNCILLOR WARD 2 shall be elected by the residents of said ward
• One COUNCILLOR WARD 3 shall be elected by the residents of said ward
• One COUNCILLOR WARD 4 shall be elected by the residents of said ward
• One COUNCILLOR WARD 5 shall be elected by the residents of said ward
NOMINATION PERIOD: Friday, May 1, 2026 to Friday, August 21, 2026
ELECTION DAY: Monday, October 26, 2026
Any person wishing to run for one of the above mentioned municipal offices may do so by filing with the Clerk of the Municipality their completed nomination papers, endorsed by at least 25 eligible electors, accompanied by the required filing fee ($200 filing fee for Mayor, $100 filing fee for all other positions) payable in cash, debit, or certified cheque.
Appointments for filing nomination materials should be made directly with the Clerk in advance.
To be filed no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.
No campaign expense may be incurred and no contribution received until the nomination is filed.
