Port Stanley Harbour Dredging
NOTICE OF PROJECT

Attention boaters.

Please be advised that Dredging Operations will commence on July 3, 2023. Dredging will commence at the mouth of the Harbour and at the lighthouse and will continue upstream to the King George VI Lift Bridge. Dredged material will be loaded on bottom dump scows and deposited in the lake, east of Port Stanley Harbour. Dredging will be undertaken 24 hours per day during weekdays and will be weather-dependent. Dredging may cease due to heavy waves and seas, given that the dredged material will be transported to a dumpsite in Lake Erie. It is not anticipated that weekend work will be undertaken unless the project schedule is affected by weather conditions and there is a need to make up missed workdays so that the work can be completed in the 2023 calendar year.

Subject to lost days due to weather, it is anticipated that the project will be completed by November 1, 2023.

While dredging operations are underway, we would ask that you assist by doing the following:

  • Keep your distance away from the dredging operation and the scows transporting the dredged material.
  • Reduce speed and wake when near the dredging operation.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

Your anticipated cooperation and understanding is appreciated.
