The Port Stanley Lift Bridge is scheduled to close to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 p.m. to allow for repairs to the bridge’s locking pin motor system.

The bridge is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.

TAKE NOTICE that on August 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., pursuant to By-law No. 2690 the Sale
& Disposition of Land Policy, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central
Elgin will consider a proposal to declare the following lands surplus to the needs of the
Municipality:

• Unopened portion of Vimy Ridge Street, legally described as Vimy Ridge St PL 221 Port Stanley, Central Elgin, PIN 35254 0198

Due to the Orange Air Quality Warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada, lifeguards are not on duty today, Friday, July 17 at Port Stanley Main Beach.

Effective as of Thursday, July 16, a fire ban is in effect in Central Elgin. 

This fire ban is being implemented due to ongoing poor air quality conditions resulting from wildlife smoke.
