Municipality of Central Elgin Sets 2024 Tax Rates

Zero Percent Budget Increase for 2024

CENTRAL ELGIN – The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin has set its 2024 Tax Rate with a zero percent increase. With total annual expenditures expected to be approximately $35,319,336, the 2024 Budget includes major capital projects valued at approximately $15,773,728.

MUNICIPALITY OF CENTRAL ELGIN – Andrew Sloan, Mayor, Municipality of Central Elgin, is pleased to share that the Municipality has settled its compensation negotiations with the City of St. Thomas in relation to the municipal boundary adjustment brought about by Bill 63, St.

CN’s annual vegetation management program is designed to mitigate potential risks to railway operations by managing weeds, and other undesirable vegetation. This program is critical to ensuring safe operations and contributes to the overall safety of our community.

CENTRAL ELGIN – At its Regular Meeting dated Monday, December 11, 2023, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin unanimously approved the submitted low tender bid from Cassidy Construction London Ltd. for the Front Street Slope Stabilization and Reconstruction Project in the amount of $4,517,312.

Belmont, ON – On Friday, local MPP Rob Flack met with the representatives of the Municipality of Central Elgin to hear more about the $425,000 Community Building Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that was used to add an accessible elevator and other upgrades to the Belmont Community Centre and Arena. The Belmont Arena elevator upgrade project was completed in July 2023.
