Notice of Intention to Adopt 2025 Municipal Budget
TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to the provisions of Section 270 of the Municipal Act, 2001, and By-law No. 972 as amended of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Central Elgin intends to pass a by-law to adopt the 2025 Budget for the Municipality at a Special Meeting on Monday, March 24th, 2025 at 7:00 pm.

Significant rainfall and mild temperatures expected Wednesday.
The Municipality of Central Elgin reminds drivers that the reduced load season starts annually on March 1 and continues until April 30. If the spring thaw occurs early, restrictions may be placed before March.
The Draft 2025 Budget for the Municipality of Central Elgin is now available to view online.
The 2025 Budget has been carefully crafted based on sound financial principles and underscores the Municipality's commitment to making strategic investments that will shape the future of Central Elgin while reinforcing the vital municipal services that our residents rely on daily.
Each winter, Central Elgin experiences periods of extreme cold. The Southwestern Public Health Unit issues Cold Alerts when :
Temperatures drop to -15°C without wind chill, or
Temperatures drop to -20°C with wind chill

With the holiday season upon us, the Municipality of Central Elgin is reminding residents of services and programs that will be open and available over the holidays and sharing tips to help make the most of this winter break.
Residents are reminded that the Municipal Office at 450 Sunset Drive will be closed beginning Tuesday, December 24 at 12:00 p.
The Port Stanley BIA is seeking support from interested businesses, individuals, and community organizations for the 2025 Port Stanley Hanging Basket Sponsorship program.
Each basket is $250 for the season and includes a plaque.

On Friday, November 15 the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) commenced a work stoppage, impacting Canada Post services. During this stoppage, Canada Post has not been picking up, processing or delivering any mail.
