Centerline Painting Notice

Please take notice that the municipal line painting contractor will be conducting line painting operations on County and Municipal Roads on July 25th and 26th. This notice is to inform drivers to obey all signage and warning signs to keep their vehicles clean and clear of all roadway paint. The Municipality of Central Elgin assumes no responsibility for paint damage claims from motorists who cross wet paint lines.

Canada Day Office Closure Details

Please note that the Municipal Office will be closed on Monday, July 1 for Canada Day, reopening at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As always, after-hours service can be reached by calling 519-631-4860 and following the prompts. **There are no changes to garbage and recycling collection days as a result of the holiday.

2024 Blue Flag Raising

The Blue Flag is officially flying at Port Stanley Main Beach for 2024!

Members of Council gathered this morning to raise the flag for the 14th consecutive year, marking the start of another incredible beach season in Port Stanley.

To earn this designation, beaches must meet rigorous international standards in water quality, environmental management, environmental education, safety and services. Central Elgin has successfully met all 33 criteria!

Municipality of Central Elgin Offers Cooling Centres

Southwestern Public Health has issued a Heat Warning for the Central Elgin region. Environment Canada is forecasting a multi-day heat event starting Monday and continuing through next week. Daytime highs on Monday will be in the low thirties, with humidex values near forty, and overnight low temperatures are expected to be in the low twenties.
